 Ellie was the only seven year old girl. When her fifteen year old sister was murdered near there home in Oldham on the Hudson is an rural villages in New York Westchester county.  There are three suspect's Rob was an nineteen year old scion of a wealthy family, whom Andrea was still dating  secretly at that time.

Paul was an sixteen year old that had a crush on Andrea that was her class mate at that time, Will was an local handyman in his forties.  So it was Ellie that led there parents to the hideout where Andrea body was found. 

This was a secret hideaway where she was able to met her friends. Her parent blamed Ellie for her sister death. For not telling them about this place when her sister went missing.  It was Ellie's Testimony led them in the convection of the man the she firmly convinced was the killer.

denying his guilt, as he spent twenty years in prison. As his parole was coming up. Ellie was the investigator reporter that was protecting his release.  The serial Killer is set free and  returning to Oldham.

Determined thwart his attempts to whitewash  his reputation.  Ellies returned to Oldham, her intention of  creating a websites or writing a book that will  conclusively his guilt . As she got deeper into her research, as she discovered horrify heretofore some unknow facts that shed a new light on her sister murder.

She is coming closer to confrontation  with a desperate killer. It was a gripping and compelling story of a family shatter by crime. Insights of  the twisting of a  killers mind along with a evidence of why American favorite author of suspense.
