What I didn't know about blogging to run an successful blog.

When you first start blogging!  It is exciting and fun!  

For the most part, it is!

I can't wait until I get home from work in the morning, I know that I can spend some time working on whatever I'm writing content for my blog. 

It is not to say sometimes there will be some difficulties that can arise.

In this post, I will be talking about a few aspirations of blogging that no one will tell you about.  By bring this now, you will be better equipped when it happens.

what I didn't know about blogging:

Let's dive right in,

Growth is hard, is so hard to believe:

Growing your blog is a lot of hard work, Sometimes it happens so easily. But other times it can take months and months of grinding.  

We are not talking about just traffic, sometimes it grows fine, But sometimes growing your mailing list might be difficult, it takes a lot of experiment and trial and error. Yes failure

The last thing, growth is psychologically tough. You need to be prepared for the extra time that comes with the exposer.

Migrating to a server is so annoying( but not too scary):

So if you are starting out on a free platform, at some point shortly, you would migrate to your own self-hosting.  The purpose of this is ownership and control

This could be really messy and the process could be annoying if you leave for a long period of time since you have a lot of pages that are not receiving the new address.

Distraction is a form of knowledge:

I was trying to get my point across, however, I found the reading of blog is a form of distraction,  If the distraction is dressed up with the knowledge I was telling myself I need to know this stuff.  Schedule some time and forget about it.

The craziest thing is your voice:

If you are wanting to stand out among all the noise is a solid brand.  Our medium is writing, so if you want your audience to engage with you need to sound like you are worth listening to 

Even though I'm tweaking my voice, every time I'm writing.  The biggest thing is moving away from a lecture.  Type a scenario just like you are in a blogging chat. A conversation is so important. 

You are accountable for millions of people:

Updating your blog regularly with content, your reader is looking for, it is so important to be consistent is the key for a successful blog.
